East Canyon State Park – Utah

We are heading to California, so crossing Utah was next. We didn’t have a specific destination in mind but wanted to camp near Salt Lake City. This ended up being East Canyon State Park which is about 18 miles outside of Park City. While the area is not forested like Dumont Lake area is, the camp sites were well set up as compensation. Of the 20 or so sites available only three were occupied that night, so we pretty much had the place to ourselves. Another plus was that it was a bit warmer during the night.
I should mention that the dogs have been good, not perfect, but good. Cap and Reg mostly sleep in the truck while Meg watches for cars. At night Cap and Reg are crated which they don’t seem to mind. During the night there have been a few growls and barks at who knows what. I suspect there were critters of various stripe wandering about. The hound in Cap seems to predispose him to whining when he wants a change. He is our alarm clock.
