La Grande

We rolled into La Grande in the morning and were met by Sarah. Andy was out with Pepper, their two-year old husky. Before lunch Andy, Cathie and I took all the dogs out to the Mount Emily Recreation area, which is only a couple of miles from their home. The dogs got along well. Apparently Cap really likes huskies. This is based on three data points. For lunch we went to the Golden Crown, which was great. I had Thai food. We were given a walking tour of downtown La Grande which gave us an opportunity to but a really great Malbec for dinner (Gascón 2013).

Later Andy picked up the boys: Mather (5) and Deacon (3). They had a great time playing with the dogs.

Andy has to be at work by 06:00, so we said our goodbye to him that night. In the morning we had a short visit with Sarah and the boys before she left for work and the boys for Montessori school. It was a great visit and very nice of them to share their house with us.
