We arrived in Leavenworth late morning on Friday the 11th and hung out at the Safeway until Kerry, Pierre, and Donica showed up from the RV park. They had arrived late the night before. Since we couldn’t check in until 1pm we all went to the fish hatchery (salmon) and then had a picnic lunch there. From the hatchery it was a short drive to the Icicle RV Park for our check in. Brittany arrived soon after and we all spent the afternoon playing in the Icicle River. Donica and the dogs enjoyed quality time in the water.
All the above went to München Haus Bavarian Grill and Beer Garden for dinner and then a stroll in town with Ian searching for ice cream. He was mostly successful in this pursuit.
The next morning Cathie and I hosted breakfast for all, including Ken and Kathy. There were eggs, bacon, potato cubes, OJ, coffee, and pastries. Yum! Another trip to the fish hatchery moved us to a time when we could go to the wedding of Leslie Schipper (Cathie’s niece) and Jared Carvitto – the raison d’être for our stop in Leavenworth.
The wedding went fine although it was about 90OF in the direct sun. The wedding was at Jared’s parent’s place. A large cedar home on acreage. The whole place is immaculate. Dinner was paella, and everyone though it was delicious. I’ll also mention that there was Bootjack IPA on tap. This particular beer is brewed by The Icicle Brewing Co located in Leavenworth.
The next and final morning Brittany stopped by our campsite for coffee and then we all met in town for breakfast at the Gingerbread factory. Soon it was time for Cathie and me to start east in earnest.
